Following a successful pilot onboard Auto Advance, UECC has chosen to enter into a commercial agreement with Oversea. The pilot demonstrates how vessel data analysis combined with expert support can identify opportunities to reduce fuel consumption and emissions while improving operational performance.
During the pilot, Oversea’s Fleet Support Center as a Service was evaluated under real operating conditions, using vessel data, continuous analysis and expert support to identify areas for improvement.
“UECC believes that greater use of digitalization is the right way forward to reduce costs and emissions, and we believe that Oversea is the right partner to support us in this development.”, says Thomas Thue, CFO at UECC.
Throughout the pilot, Oversea worked closely with UECC to analyze vessel performance and identify practical improvement opportunities. The work resulted in several data-driven recommendations that demonstrated clear potential to improve operational efficiency while reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
One recommendation focused on optimizing the timing of hull and propeller maintenance. Although only a short operating period remained before dry docking, Oversea and UECC have already identified improvements and measured tangible reduction in consumption, delivering fuel savings, reducing emissions, and time required in dry dock.
The pilot also identified opportunities to further improve vessel performance through trim optimization, with analysis indicating a sizable potential in fuel consumption. These improvement opportunities will now be translated into measurable operational savings through the commercial agreement.
“UECC has been a valued trial partner for Oversea, helping us further develop our offering. It is very rewarding to see that our Fleet Support service has delivered measurable impact. We now look forward to continuing and expanding our collaboration, supporting more vessels across the UECC fleet.”, says Jesper Lögdström, CEO of Oversea.
The commercial agreement is an important validation of Oversea’s offering and demonstrates how specialist expertise, data analytics and digital tools can work together to create measurable customer value. It also represents a further step in Oversea’s work to support the shipping industry’s transition towards more sustainable and efficient operations.
