BlackSky wins expanded seven-figure gen-3 assured contract with International Defense Partner

Demand for BlackSky’s premier real-time intelligence service drove rapid twofold increase in customer’s subscription in less than six months
BlackSky Technology won an expanded seven-figure Gen-3 Assured contract with an international defense partner. Demand for BlackSky’s premier real-time intelligence service in one of the world’s most demanding and contested regions drove a rapid twofold increase in the customer’s subscription in less than six months. Designed for mission readiness, Assured empowers customers to monitor and secure borders, counter UAV threats and protect forces with confidence in times of conflict.
“This expansion exemplifies the type of accelerated adoption of Gen-3 and our Assured services among our international customers as they experience the game-changing performance in their day-to-day tactical ISR operations, reflecting positive momentum in our land-and-expand strategy and the highly differentiated value of our combined offerings,” said Brian O’Toole, BlackSky CEO. “Assured offers unmatched guaranteed collection commitments to provide an industry-leading, real-time intelligence capability with superior clarity for mission critical decision advantage.”
The initial contract began as a small Gen-2 pilot that quickly grew into a large annual Gen-3 Assured subscription, delivering committed tasking and predictable collection continuity over the customer’s designated areas of interest. This latest agreement expands the customer’s Assured access that combines the high-cadence, time-diverse revisit rates of Gen- 2 with the best-in-class 35cm resolution of Gen-3 imagery to maintain persistent, uninterrupted situational awareness across any theater.
With speed and precision as chief elements informing mission success, Gen-3’s enhanced image clarity improves AI-enabled detection, identification and classification for a wide array of vehicles, aircraft, vessels and other objects of tactical relevance. Customers can incorporate Gen-2 and Gen-3 data seamlessly and securely into their current workflow through BlackSky Spectra®. This advanced fully automated architecture enables sustained dynamic monitoring operations over multiple locations and rapid collection of low-latency, very high-resolution imagery in response to localized, swiftly evolving events.
