AVS+ targets fragmented vessel procurement with centralised fleet management platform

AVS Global Ship Supply has developed AVS +, a digital platform designed to give ship managers greater visibility and control over vessel procurement by bringing ordering, expenditure, inventory and operational records into a single system.
The platform addresses a common challenge in maritime procurement, where orders, quotations, invoices and operational information can be spread across emails, telephone conversations and separate files, making it difficult for managers to establish the status of an order or obtain an up-to-date view of vessel expenditure.
Through AVS+, customers can manage supply activities covering provisions, technical stores and port services through one web-based application.
Orders can be submitted using standardised templates and transferred directly into the AVS+ system, allowing customers to follow their progress through each stage of the supply process.
Fleet information is presented through both interactive map and list views, giving users access to vessel-specific operational records and invoices from a central repository.
The system also allows companies to define procurement and catering parameters at fleet level, including target victualling rates, portion weights and supply lead times, while retaining the flexibility to adjust those requirements for individual vessels.
Reporting tools provide access to information covering consumption, budget performance, price history and catering analysis, with reports available for export in PDF or Excel formats.
This enables ship managers to monitor expenditure and operational performance during the month rather than relying solely on the manual consolidation of information after a reporting period has ended.
Doğukan Şimşek, General Manager at AVS Global Ship Supply, said: “Procurement teams are often managing a large volume of information across different vessels, ports and supply requirements, but much of that information has traditionally been spread across separate emails, spreadsheets and systems.
“AVS+ brings that information together in one place, giving customers a clearer view of what has been ordered, where each order stands, how budgets are developing and what is happening across the wider fleet.”
The platform also supports onboard inventory management, allowing users to record and review stock levels alongside purchasing and consumption information.
By combining operational, commercial and inventory data, AVS+ is intended to help customers make more informed purchasing decisions, improve budget control and create greater consistency across fleet procurement.
Şimşek added: “The objective is not simply to digitise an existing process. It is to give ship managers better information while decisions are being made, rather than having to piece that information together afterwards.”
AVS+ forms part of the company’s wider investment in digital services designed to support more efficient and transparent vessel supply operations.
