Voyager awarded $22.4M DoW contract for Next-Gen Satellite Deployment Systems

Commercial technology unlocks new mission capacity for national security launches
Voyager Technologies announced the award of a $22.4 million Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) with the Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO) from the Department of War (DoW) for a Research and Development (R&D) effort to prototype next-generation satellite deployment systems. The effort’s ultimate objective is to transition new technology and capability to the U.S. Space Force.
“This award reflects Voyager’s confidence in our ability to move rapidly from concept to on-orbit capability,” said Matt Magaña, president, Space, Defense & National Security, Voyager. “We’re excited to work with the DoW on this R&D effort that has the goal of providing the Space Force new tools to put more capability on orbit faster, and without displacing primary mission objectives.”
Under the OTA, Voyager will deliver prototype, but flight-ready small sat dispensers purpose-built to extract new mission value from space launches that otherwise leave payload capacity on the table. The program directly supports SCO’s mandate to rapidly deliver transformative capabilities and strategic effects to combatant commanders.
Voyager brings decades of mission heritage in small satellite programs across civil, commercial, and national security customers. The company delivers end-to-end mission management, spanning payload integration, launch coordination safety assurance and on-orbit operations, with a proven record of getting spacecraft to orbit and keeping them there.
