Marpoint achieves new ISO Certifications, strengthening Data Privacy and Business Continuity

Marpoint has achieved ISO/IEC 27701 and ISO 22301 certification, strengthening its existing ISO/IEC 27001 certification and reinforcing its commitment to information security, data privacy and operational resilience.
ISO/IEC 27701 provides a structured framework for managing personal data, strengthening accountability and supporting compliance with privacy requirements, including GDPR. This is particularly relevant to services involving access to customer environments, such as Managed IT Services and remote technical support, where responsible handling of personal information is essential.
ISO 22301 focuses on business continuity, strengthening Marpoint’s preparedness to respond to disruptive incidents and maintain or restore essential operations. Customers that rely on ongoing remote support and fleet-wide IT management, can trust the resilience of the service supporting behind their onboard technology. Its emphasis on preparedness and recovery also complements IMO’s objective of maritime operations that are resilient to cyber risks.
The new certifications build on ISO/IEC 27001, which establishes a systematic approach to managing information security risks and protecting information and systems. This framework supports the processes behind services such as secure remote access, configuration management and security updates, as well as the support provided for EVO3 connectivity and firewall solutions and UNI onboard IT infrastructure. IMO explicitly identifies ISO/IEC 27001 as a relevant resource for maritime cyber risk management.
Working with a certified technology vendor is an important part of building secure and resilient maritime operations. IMO identifies ISO/IEC 27001 as a relevant standard for maritime cyber risk management, making independently assessed information security practices particularly valuable when selecting a technology partner.
Marpoint’s additional ISO 22301 and ISO/IEC 27701 certifications strengthen this foundation through business continuity planning and responsible personal data management. Together, these certifications provide greater confidence in the processes behind Marpoint’s services and support shipping companies’ wider efforts to manage cyber risk and meet their regulatory obligations.
