Three Indian state-owned liquefied petroleum gas importers issued a joint tender on Friday for approximately 2.75 million metric tons of LPG from the United States for delivery in 2027, a Reuters report said.

Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum are requesting four very large gas carrier cargoes per month through the tender, the report added citing document seen by Reuters.

Each cargo would contain 46,000 tons, divided equally between propane and butane, on a delivered basis every month during 2027. The tender also requests one 45,000-ton cargo each month on a free-on-board basis.

The tender remains valid until October 22.

LPG is a mixture of propane and butane. India ranks as the world’s second-largest importer of LPG, after China.
