90POE (Ninety Percent of Everything Ltd), the maritime software company behind OpenOcean STUDIO, has achieved independent certification from Normec Verifavia, confirming that its platform meets the data, process and functionality requirements of six major emissions and fuel compliance regimes.

The certification covers:

EU MRV (Regulation (EU) 2015/757 – Monitoring, Reporting and Verification)

EU ETS (the maritime extension of the EU Emissions Trading System)

UK MRV (the UK’s equivalent monitoring and reporting regime)

IMO DCS (the IMO’s Data Collection System for fuel oil consumption, MARPOL Annex VI)

IMO CII (Carbon Intensity Indicator)

FuelEU Maritime (Regulation (EU) 2023/1805 on renewable and low-carbon fuels)

Normec Verifavia, a leading independent verifier of maritime emissions data and IT systems, tested OpenOcean STUDIO against each regulation’s requirements for fuel consumption and CO2 emissions calculations, voyage allocation, activity data, and general IT controls covering security, confidentiality, archiving, performance and change management. The assessment followed the principles of ISO 17065 (conformity assessment for bodies certifying products, processes and services).

The certification confirms that OpenOcean STUDIO’s calculations, functionality and reporting process meet each regulation’s requirements for demonstrating emissions compliance.
