September 7, 2026

The International Bunker Industry Association will bring together leading figures from across the global marine energy and shipping industries at its 2026 Annual Convention, taking place 10–12 November at the New York Marriott Downtown.

The Convention will address the key issues shaping the marine fuels sector, including regulation and policy, fuel quality, alternative fuels, digitalisation and AI, market developments and the energy transition.

The programme features senior industry and government leaders, including Laura DiBella, Chair of the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission, Sydney Plante of the U.S. Maritime Administration, Houda Dabboussi, President of Shell Marine, and Stephen Gordon, Managing Director of Clarksons Research.

“The industry is navigating a period of unprecedented change. This Convention will bring together the people shaping that change, creating an opportunity for open dialogue, practical insight and collaboration across the marine energy value chain,” said Alexander Prokopakis, Executive Director of IBIA.

Adrian Tolson, Chair of IBIA, added: “The Americas are playing an increasingly influential role in the future of global marine energy. New York provides an ideal setting to bring together global and regional leaders to discuss different perspectives, opportunities and the challenges ahead.”

With dedicated sessions on North and Latin American markets, the Convention will also explore the region’s growing role in the global bunker industry.

“There is tremendous momentum across the Americas, and we look forward to giving the region a strong voice while connecting its markets with the wider global bunker community,” said Frank Dahan, Regional Board Chair – Americas.

The three-day event will combine high-level discussions with extensive opportunities for networking, including a Welcome Reception and Convention Dinner.

The IBIA Annual Convention also provides companies with an opportunity to put their brand at the centre of the industry, connecting directly with senior decision-makers, industry leaders and key stakeholders from across the global marine energy and shipping community. Sponsorship and partnership opportunities offer valuable visibility throughout the Convention and provide a platform to showcase your company, strengthen industry relationships and engage with the people shaping the future of marine fuels.
