Seabourn announced the first lineup of influential voices and leaders from The Atlantic who will sail as part of Seabourn Conversations, bringing the luxury cruise line’s exclusive three-year partnership with the award-winning publication to life. Guest speakers include David Frum, staff writer at The Atlantic and host of The David Frum Show podcast; Megan Garber, staff writer and author; Yvonne Rolzhausen, senior editor and head of fact-checking; and Evan Smith, managing director of events.

Together, the speakers reflect the range of voices guests can expect throughout the partnership, spanning culture, journalism, media, and the ideas shaping society today. The lineup reflects Seabourn’s continued commitment to bringing enriching conversations and influential storytellers on board for guests.

The announcement builds on Seabourn and The Atlantic’s partnership, announced earlier this year, to bring curated programming and exclusive experiences to select Seabourn voyages as part of Seabourn Conversations. Designed to foster meaningful dialogue, Seabourn Conversations brings guests face-to-face with leading thinkers, authors, and experts across culture, science, history, and the arts for the world’s most compelling conversations at sea. The collaboration reflects Seabourn’s continued commitment to offering enrichment without borders and onboard access.

• Megan Garber is a staff writer at The Atlantic whose work explores the intersection of culture and media. She is the recipient of a Mirror Award for her writing about the media, and she previously worked as a reporter for the Nieman Journalism Lab and as a critic for the Columbia Journalism Review. She is the author of Screen People: How We Entertained Ourselves into a State of Emergency and On Misdirection: Magic, Mayhem, American Politics.
• Yvonne Rolzhausen is a managing editor and head of fact-checking at The Atlantic. In her more than 30 years with The Atlantic, she has become a leading voice on journalistic accuracy, editorial rigor and the fact-checking process, frequently speaking at universities and internationally on journalism standards.

• David Frum is a staff writer at The Atlantic and host of the weekly podcast, The David Frum Show. He writes on policy, politics, art, literature and history, and is the author of 10 books, most recently Trumpocracy (2018) and Trumpocalypse (2020). He served as a speechwriter for President George W. Bush in 2001 and 2002, and later chaired the prominent U.K. center-right think tank, Policy Exchange, from 2014 to 2017.
• Evan Smith serves as managing director of events for The Atlantic, overseeing the publication’s live journalism and public programming, and is a senior advisor at Emerson Collective. Previously, he spent more than 13 years at The Texas Tribune, which he co-founded and led as CEO, and nearly 18 years at Texas Monthly, including nine years as editor in chief and a year as president. He is the host of “Overheard with Evan Smith,” a weekly interview program airing on PBS stations nationwide.

Additional programming in 2027 from The Atlantic will be announced at a later date, and the partnership will culminate in the exclusive “12-day With The Atlantic: A Seabourn Conversations Exclusive” voyage aboard Seabourn Quest, departing October 4, 2028, during Seabourn’s 40th anniversary year. The voyage will feature exclusive editorial programming developed in collaboration with The Atlantic and inspired by the spirit of The Atlantic Festival, bringing together journalism, ideas and cultural conversation in a way that is unique to the partnership.

The partnership also includes additional touchpoints designed to bring The Atlantic experience into the Seabourn journey, including access to digital content for guests on select voyages and curated libraries featuring recent issues of the magazine and books by current and historical Atlantic writers across the Seabourn fleet.
