Stainless-steel cargo tanks are the defining quality feature of the new tanker delivered today to Navalmed, the operating arm, together with Augusta Due, of the Brullo shipping group. The delivery marks a further step forward in the fleet renewal programme led by the Brullo family.

Named Hiera M and flying the Italian flag, the new vessel was built by Chinese shipyard Zhousan Dashenzhou. It meets the most stringent international standards on energy efficiency (EEDI) and is capable of operating in Emission Control Areas (ECAs) – Northern Europe, the United States and, since May 2025, the Mediterranean. The vessel is the sister ship of a second unit ordered from the same shipyard in December 2025 and scheduled for delivery in 2028. The Hiera M is 130 metres long and 22 metres wide, with a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 13,244 tonnes.

The new vessels, which are expected to operate in the Mediterranean and Northern European markets transporting petrochemical products, are an integral part of the ongoing fleet renewal and rejuvenation programme. The programme was already strengthened last year with the entry into service of the Primo M and Ginostra M, delivered and commissioned in in February and September 2025 respectively, as well as the Alicudi M, another stainless-steel tanker with a deadweight of 9,000 tonne in February 2026.

The Rome-based shipping group currently operates a fleet of 17 vessels, in addition to those on order. The fleet is characterised by a strong focus on technological innovation, with propulsion systems designed to reduce fuel consumption and prevent pollution, including emissions. The vessels are also equipped with shore power connection systems, allowing commercial operations to be carried out with engines and generators switched off.

By maintaining its Italian flag, the company is further consolidating its position in the international market, supported by long-standing relationships with leading industry operators and a reputation built on the punctuality and reliability of its chartering services.

The strengthening of these relationships is also reflected in the international credibility the group has earned through its track record, resulting in partnerships with financial institutions and investment funds in the United States, Northern Europe, Japan and China.

In 2025, in line with its fleet renewal and sustainability strategy, the group also sold three vessels that were no longer considered consistent with its quality standards: Rinella M, Basiluzzo M and Panarea M.
