Singapore’s conventional bunker sales rose for second consecutive month

Higher HSFO sales drove Singapore’s total bunker sales higher in June.
Changes in bunker sales from May to June:
Total sales up 144,000 mt to 4.56 million mt
VLSFO sales down 97,000 mt to 2.20 million mt
HSFO sales up 240,000 mt to 2.04 million mt
MGO sales up 1,000 mt to 329,000 mt
HSFO sales in Singapore rose 13% in June to 2.20 million mt, their highest monthly level since January.
MGO sales remained broadly stable over the same period, while VLSFO sales declined by 4%.
Around 3,618 vessels received bunkers in the port in June, down by 72 from 3,690 in May, according to preliminary data from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.
Despite the lower number of bunker calls, average daily bunker sales increased to 1,260 mt from around 1,200 mt in May, mainly because June had one fewer day.
Total bunker sales in the first six months of the year were 6% higher than during the same period last year.
Fuel grade share of total sales in April (compared to year to date):
48% VLSFO (51% YTD)
45% HSFO (42% YTD)
7% MGO (7% YTD)
