Blue Ocean Gear strengthens ties with Norwegian maritime ecosystem
California-based Blue Ocean Gear recently participated in the TMA Bluetech Trade Mission Norway, engaging with key stakeholders across the Norwegian maritime cluster ecosystem, with a particular focus on offshore energy and defense applications.
Designed by Silicon Valley engineers in partnership with commercial fishers operating in some of the harshest marine environments, the company’s low-cost, patented buoys are ruggedized for performance from Arctic to Antarctic regions. The systems are widely deployed across global waters, with remotely configurable sensor transmission enabling flexible use cases across surface and subsea operations.
Their technology is built to support a broad range of applications, from offshore logistics and fisheries to maritime domain awareness and defense-related situational awareness, with customers operating in every ocean globally.

Blue Ocean Gear’s participation underscores growing international interest in Norway as a testbed and collaboration hub for ocean technology innovation, supported by environments such as the Ocean Autonomy Cluster.
