PT Pasifik Satelit Nusantara (PSN) has officially entered into a strategic partnership with the Class III Port Authority Office (UPP) of Korido, under the Directorate General of Sea Transportation, Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia. The Cooperation Agreement was signed at the Sriwijaya Room, Ministry of Transportation Building, Jakarta, on Tuesday (21/4), marking a concrete step in PSN’s commitment to advancing digital transformation in the maritime sector across Indonesia’s Foremost, Outermost, Underdeveloped, and Border (3TP) regions.

The agreement was signed by PSN Director Heru Dwi Kartono and Head of the Class III Korido Port Authority Office Willem Thobias Fofid, witnessed by Director General of Sea Transportation Muhammad Masyhud.

Through this partnership, PSN brings cutting-edge satellite-based connectivity solutions to support the digital transformation of Korido Port operations — a port that plays a strategic role as a logistics gateway and economic driver in the Pacific Region. This collaboration also marks the first of its kind within the Directorate General of Sea Transportation to leverage satellite technology for the digitalization of a Port Authority Office in a 3TP area.

PSN Director Heru Dwi Kartono emphasized that this partnership is part of PSN’s broader mission to bridge the digital divide across Indonesia.

“This collaboration is a strategic step for us in supporting digital transformation, particularly in the maritime sector, and more specifically in improving port service quality in 3TP regions. As a company operating in telecommunications and connectivity services, we firmly believe that communication access is a critical foundation for operational efficiency, navigational safety, and national data sovereignty,” said Heru.

Heru further underscored PSN’s commitment to delivering inclusive and sustainable solutions. “Through this partnership, we are committed to providing technology solutions that are inclusive, sustainable, and capable of reaching areas that have long been underserved. We hope this collaboration runs smoothly and delivers the greatest possible benefit to the nation and the country,” he added.

PSN’s satellite infrastructure is expected to address the geographic challenges that have long hindered access to information technology at Korido Port. Signal limitations that frequently disrupted vessel and port administrative reporting are now targeted to be resolved through the connectivity solutions PSN brings to the table.

Head of the Class III Korido Port Authority Office Willem Thobias Fofid welcomed PSN’s contribution in strengthening digital services in his region. “This cooperation is a concrete step toward realizing synergized digitalization of port services and water transportation. The use of satellite technology is expected to deliver reliable digital connectivity, especially in areas that have long been beyond the reach of terrestrial networks,” said Willem.

Willem also highlighted the critical importance of digital sovereignty reinforced through this collaboration. Vessel movement data, port activity records, and maritime transportation services are strategic national assets that must be managed securely, in an integrated manner, and with full sovereignty. “Through this partnership, we hope service systems will run more smoothly without being hampered by network issues,” he explained.

Director General of Sea Transportation Muhammad Masyhud also expressed his appreciation for PSN’s role in this landmark collaboration. He noted that the integration of PSN’s satellite technology into port operational systems will create maximum operational efficiency while enabling real-time data transparency directly from the Pacific border to national data centers.

With PSN’s satellite solutions now in place at Korido Port, the security and integration of vessel movement data and port activity records in eastern Indonesia are set to be significantly strengthened, alongside enhanced oversight and navigational safety across the region.
