• Valenciaport has sent a delegation, led by its president, to the Maghreb’s leading logistics trade show
• Participating in this event helps strengthen commercial ties and explore new business opportunities in Morocco and North Africa
• Morocco is establishing itself as one of Valenciaport’s strategic markets, with more than 2 million tons and over 121,000 TEUs handled in 2025

 Valenciaport participated this week in the Logismed Casablanca international trade fair, North Africa’s leading professional logistics and supply chain event, with the aim of strengthening its presence in the Moroccan market and consolidating its role as a strategic port for trade links between Europe, Africa, and the Mediterranean.

The delegation from the Port Authority of Valencia (APV), led by Valenciaport President Mar Chao, held a series of institutional meetings and working sessions with representatives of Morocco’s logistics and port sector. Valenciaport’s presence in Casablanca took place within the framework of the Spanish Pavilion organized by ICEX, which provided a meeting space for participating Spanish companies and organizations.

Every year, Logismed brings together government officials, logistics operators, shipping companies, and institutional leaders involved in transportation and the supply chain, including representatives from Morocco’s Ministry of Transport. The trade show also attracts more than 5,000 trade visitors and has established itself as a key platform for generating business opportunities and forging strategic partnerships in the Maghreb.

During the trade show, Valenciaport highlighted its international connectivity, its logistics capabilities, and the strategic role played by the ports of Valencia, Sagunto, and Gandia as gateways for the movement of goods between Europe and North Africa.

Morocco has established itself as one of Valenciaport’s most important trading partners. In 2025, trade volume between Valenciaport and Moroccan ports totaled 2,090,864 tons, representing a cumulative increase of 7.81% compared to the previous year.

In container traffic, Valenciaport handled a total of 121,193 full TEUs with Morocco in 2025, representing a cumulative increase of 16.92% compared to the previous year. These figures cement Morocco’s position as one of the APV’s main international markets and reinforce the role of hubs such as Casablanca and Tangier Med within the strategic maritime connections between Europe, Africa, and the Mediterranean.

Valenciaport’s investment in Logismed is also part of its internationalization strategy and the roadmap outlined in its 2035 Strategic Plan, which focuses on sustainable growth, innovation, connectivity, and strengthening commercial ties with strategic markets.
