Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, announced that on May 4th.2026, a newbuild commissioning service operation vessel  the “TSS CRUISER” which has been constructed through Ta San Shang Marine , a joint company of MOL and Ta Tong Marine, was delivered by Damen Shipyards in Ha Long, Vietnam. The vessel is TSSM’s second SOV, following Asia’s first, the TSS Pioneer, which was delivered in 2022. The vessel is scheduled to support a wide range of offshore wind farm operations in Taiwan, including construction support activities.

Compared to the TSS PIONEER, which is engaged in maintenance support for offshore wind farms, the TSS CRUISER is designed with enhanced capabilities to support the construction and commissioning phases of offshore wind farms. Specifically, the accommodation capacity has been expanded from approximately 90 to 120 personnel, the onboard crane capability has been strengthened, and the vessel has adopted a methanol-ready design in anticipation of future decarbonization fuel requirements.

MOL will continue to steadily build on its SOV operations in Taiwan, where the offshore wind market is the most advanced in Asia, while also expanding its SOV fleet with a view to serving the Japanese market and the broader Asian region, where offshore wind development is expected to accelerate in the coming years.

In line with the “Environmental Vision -BLUE ACTION 2035 Phase 2-” and under its management plan “BLUE ACTION 2035,” MOL will actively promote low- and zero-carbon businesses, including offshore wind power-related operations, contributing to the realization of a net-zero emission society.
