Stephen Fewster, Global Lead Shipping Finance at ING Bank, and Mads Peter Zacho, Chief Executive Officer of Navigator Holdings, were appointed as new members of the Global Maritime Forum’s Board of Directors.

“We are pleased to welcome Stephen and Mads Peter to the Board at a time when the maritime industry is facing intense pressures,” said Johannah Christensen, Chief Executive Officer of the Global Maritime Forum. “Their combined experience across shipping, finance, and the energy transition will be valuable as we continue to tackle the industry’s most pressing issues.”

Stephen Fewster brings more than 40 years of banking experience, including three decades focused on ship finance. He has extensive expertise across financing structures, risk management, and sustainable shipping initiatives. He is also Vice Chair and Treasurer of the Poseidon Principles and serves on several maritime advisory boards.

Mads Peter Zacho has nearly 20 years of experience in shipping. Before joining Navigator Holdings Ltd., he served as Head of Industry Transition at the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping. He has also held senior leadership roles at J. Lauritzen A/S, TORM Plc, and Svitzer.

Michael Parker, Chairman of Citi Shipping, Logistics & Offshore, Randy Chen, Vice Chairman of Wan Hai Lines, and Øivind Lorentzen III, Chairman of Lorentzen & Co., stepped down from the Board after serving for the maximum number of years allowed in the foundation’s bylaws. They will continue to support the Forum as members of the organisation’s Advisory Council. In another change, Flemming Jacobs transitioned from honorary board member to the Advisory Council.
