The Program of Studies in Supply Chain Management and Maritime Studies proudly hosted its annual Competition Award Ceremony, bringing together students, educators, and industry partners to celebrate academic excellence and innovation. This year’s competition focused on the necessity and challenges of Artificial Intelligence in shipping, the supply chain, and the procurement process, highlighting the growing importance of digital transformation in the maritime sector. The ceremony showcased the remarkable talent emerging from Cyprus’ educational community and the strong support of leading organizations in the industry.

High School Competition

The judging committee announced a shared first-place award, honoring the achievements of A’ Technical School and C’ Technical School. Both schools presented projects that demonstrated creativity and a forward‑looking understanding of how artificial intelligence can transform maritime operations. Monetary awards were generously offered by the Salamis Organization and were presented by the Deputy Minister of Shipping, Mrs. Marina Hadjimanolis, who congratulated the students and emphasized the importance of cultivating digital talent for the future of Cyprus’s maritime sector.

MIEEK Student Competition

In the MIEEK student category, Constantinos Menelaou was named the Winner of the AI in the Supply Chain competition, receiving a monetary award from the Demetriades Group of Companies. Lemissoler Navigation Ltd. and L. Nemitsas offered monetary awards to the second and third place winners, recognizing their strong contributions and innovative approaches.

IMAREST Competition

The ceremony also featured the IMAREST Competition, AI in the Procurement Process, where Constantinos Menelaou was once again honored as the Winner, receiving a monetary award from IMAREST along with an invitation to their annual gala dinner, offering him a unique opportunity to engage with professionals from the global maritime community.
