The Cyprus Shipping Chamber was pleased to host, during its monthly Members Meeting, on 22 April 2026, Dr. Chryso Aristeidou, Senior Officer of the Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Cyprus, who presented the results of the Survey on the Contribution of Shipmanagement Companies to the Cyprus Economy for the second half of 2025.

The Shipmanagement Survey is conducted on a semi-annual basis by the Central Bank of Cyprus’s Balance of Payments Section, which is part of the Statistics Department, and serves as an important tool in measuring the value created by the shipmanagement sector for the Cyprus economy. Since March 2009, the Survey has consistently recorded the long-standing, stable and growing contribution of shipmanagement companies operating in Cyprus and providing services to shipowning companies both in Cyprus and internationally.

The results for the period 1 July – 31 December 2025 are particularly encouraging and confirm the sector’s strong momentum. More specifically, revenue generated by shipmanagement companies in Cyprus reached €1 billion during the second half of 2025, representing an increase of 2.3% compared to the first half of the year, while their contribution accounted for 5.4% of Cyprus’ GDP.

Notably, when combined with the results of the first half of the year, the sector’s total revenue for 2025 exceeded €1.9 billion, reaching its highest level for the 2020–2025 period. This marks an important milestone and provides clear evidence of the growing importance of shipmanagement to Cyprus.

These impressive results once again confirm that Cyprus Shipping, and in particular the shipmanagement sector, remains one of the country’s most important pillars of growth, making a substantial contribution to economic activity, employment and the international competitiveness of Cyprus.
