
Nominations now open for leading initiatives advancing equality and inclusion in the maritime sector
WISTA Cyprus is proud to announce the launch of the Honours for Diversity and Inclusion in Maritime 2026, an initiative recognising organisations, companies, and individuals driving meaningful progress in gender balance, diversity, and inclusion across the maritime sector.
The Honours celebrate practical actions, innovative approaches, and leadership that foster fair, respectful, and inclusive workplaces both at sea and ashore.
The awards will be presented during the high-level conference “Shaping Policy, Driving Change: Equality and Inclusion in the Maritime Sector”, organised and hosted by the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, taking place in Brussels on 12 May 2026.
The Honours are organised by WISTA Cyprus, with the support of WISTA International, the European Commission’s Women in Transport, the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and leading maritime stakeholders.

Three award categories
The 2026 Honours will recognise excellence in the following categories:
- Best Improvement in Diversity and Inclusive Maritime Workplace
- Best Initiative for Respect & Wellbeing at Sea
- Best New Inclusion Initiative
Each category will highlight impactful initiatives that demonstrate measurable progress and inspire wider adoption across the maritime industry.
Nominations now open
Nominations are open to organisations, companies, teams, and individuals within the maritime sector whose work has contributed to advancing diversity and inclusion.
