– Registration of the “Navigator of the Seas” under the Cyprus flag –

The Shipping Deputy Ministry announces the further strengthening of its collaboration with the international cruise giant, Royal Caribbean Group, through the registration of the cruise ship “Navigator of the Seas” in the Cyprus registry.

The “Navigator of the Seas”, with a gross tonnage of 140,000, is the second vessel of the group to join the Cyprus registry, following the registration of the cruise ship “Spectrum of the Seas” in January 2023.

Following the Group’s decision in 2023 to establish a permanent base in Limassol, which serves as the centre of its maritime operations in the Eastern Mediterranean, the registration of the “Navigator of the Seas” confirms the group’s commitment and trust in the Cyprus flag and further strengthens Cyprus’s position as a reliable and competitive maritime centre.

The Shipping Deputy Minister, Ms Marina Hadjimanolis, expresses on behalf of the Government her warm thanks to Mr Jason Liberty, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, Mr Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, Mr Sean Treacy, Senior Vice President of Royal Caribbean International, and Mr Christos Karavos, Director of Europe & Middle East for Royal Caribbean International, for their trust and the substantial enhancement of this partnership.

The continued strengthening of the collaboration with the group is a clear indication of trust in Cyprus shipping and the country’s maritime policy, which continues to develop dynamically, enhancing its competitiveness and international presence.
