MOL PLUS announced its decision to join TIB CATAPULT , a start-up support platform promoted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. MOL PLUS will participate as a constituent company in the second phase of the Tokyo Logistics Co-Creation Cluster , operated by TIB CATAPULT.

Through the Tokyo Logistics Co-Creation Cluster, logistics operators collaborate with institutional investors and start-ups to create new businesses for implementation in society, with the aim of resolving structural challenges facing the logistics industry and establishing next-generation de facto standards.

The logistics industry has faced a number of challenges in recent years that are difficult for individual companies to resolve on their own, such as labor shortages and the need to reduce environmental impact. MOL PLUS, as the corporate venture capital arm of the MOL Group, has not only invested in start-ups but also worked to facilitate commercialization and social implementation by collaborating with business divisions and supporting demonstration efforts. MOL PLUS strongly resonates with the Tokyo Logistics Co-Creation Cluster’s vision of transforming logistics through co-creation, and has decided to participate as a phase 2 constituent company. Going forward, we will contribute to addressing challenges facing the logistics industry and creating new value by promoting demonstration experiments and proof-of-concept efforts that make use of business assets held by the MOL Group, as well as through strategic investments in start-ups and support for their medium- to long-term growth.
