Cyprus Shipping News (CSN), a premier source of global maritime intelligence, has confirmed its active role at Asia Pacific Maritime (APM) 2026.
Adonis Violaris, Managing Director of CSN, will moderate one of the most highly anticipated panel discussions of the event, tackling the widening gap between regulatory ambition and commercial reality. He will take the helm of the panel, “Fuels of the Future vs The Reality of Today: Is the IMO Framework Losing its Grip?” on Thursday, 26th March at 13:00 (Blue Wave Stage).
As the maritime sector faces immense pressure to meet the IMO’s Net-Zero targets, the discussion will bypass theoretical projections to focus on the immediate operational and financial hurdles confronting shipowners today.
“Our role at Cyprus Shipping News has always been to cut through the industry noise,” says Adonis Violaris. “Right now, there is a distinct disconnect between the mandates coming from the IMO and the lack of viable infrastructure, alternative fuels, and trained seafarers available to the owners footing the bill. My objective on the Blue Wave Stage is to ask the difficult questions and demand practical answers from our panellists.”
Joining the debate to provide a comprehensive, unvarnished view of the industry’s current challenges is a lineup of key maritime leaders, including:
-
Charalambos Manoli, CEO, Acheon Akti Navigation
-
Raymond Peter, Managing Director, Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement Singapore
-
Jeremy Holbrook, Managing Director, Intermaritime Shipmanagement in Singapore
-
Stefanos Magoulas, Chemical Engineer / Senior Environmental Consultant, ICS SOLIX Environmental Consultants

Together, the panel will confront the severe lack of alternative fuel infrastructure, the heavy financial burden of current compliance, and the strategies required to remain commercially viable on the road to 2050.
CSN will be providing extensive, on-the-ground coverage throughout APM 2026, delivering vital insights directly from the exhibition floor at Marina Bay Sands.
