2026 celebrates the 10th anniversary of Associated British Ports supporting the Humber Coastal Half Marathon and 10k and fun run.

Associated British Ports  is delighted to celebrate its ten-year support of the ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon, 10k and Family Fun Run with organisers Tape2Tape.

The festival of mass participation running events, which began in 2016, came about after an idea from ABP employee Paul Durrant, Lead Estate Manager, and keen runner. And so began an event billed as having one of the best courses in the country, with its coastal location and views over the Humber Estuary.

With events over a range of distances the ABP Humber Coastal has attracted thousands of runners from far and wide, welcoming those new to running to those participating in the fun run to experienced marathoners and from children to veterans.

we’re incredibly proud of. This event brings so much joy to everyone involved—from the runners and volunteers to the communities and neighbours who come out to support it each year. It has become a true celebration of our coastline and the people who make this region such a special place. Being part of something that inspires wellbeing, brings communities together, and continues to grow year after year is a real honour for Associated British Ports.”

This tenth year belongs to everyone who has played a part in making the event what it is today a shining example of what can happen when a community comes together.”

Seeing the ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon festival reach its tenth anniversary is incredibly special. As both a runner and part of the ABP team, it’s a real privilege to take part again this year and to witness how the event continues to bring people together, celebrate our coastline, and inspire so many to get involved.”

If a running challenge this year isn’t possible for you then you can still get involved with supporting the event as a volunteer Race Maker. The ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon 10k and Family Fun Run is supported by 300 volunteers. There is a role to suit everyone – from cheering runners on the course as a marshal, to handing out water or the iconic donuts at the end of the race; you can even volunteer as a photographer. Community groups and charities looking to volunteer as a group are welcome too.

The event complements ABP’s support of other races around the UK including marathons in Southampton, Newport, Cardiff, and Ipswich.
