Konstantinos Menelaou, a student of the Supply Chain Management and Maritime Studies Program at MIEEK, is the winner of the IMarEST Cyprus Branch (Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology) Student Research Competition with his project titled:

“The Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Procurement Process.”

Konstantinos’ research provides an in‑depth examination of:

• the importance and necessity of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modern procurement processes,
• the value of AI tools in enhancing efficiency and decision‑making,
• and the challenges procurement professionals face when integrating and utilizing such technologies.

This distinction highlights the growing relevance of AI in supply chain management and maritime studies, while also showcasing the high quality of academic work produced by students in the program.

Lina Ellina, Academic Coordinator of the program, stated: “We are particularly proud of Konstantinos’ achievement. His success reflects the high caliber of our students and the emphasis we place on innovation, research, and the practical application of modern technologies in the fields of supply chain management and maritime studies.”
