The Digital Container Shipping Association announces that VIACHAIN™, an ORBCOMM® company, has joined DCSA+, the association’s partnership programme, to support the accelerated adoption of interoperable digital standards across the global container ecosystem.

VIACHAIN™ is a global technology leader specialising in IoT-enabled supply chain intelligence solutions. The company joins DCSA+ as part of its commitment to advancing industry-wide standardisation and eliminating fragmented data practices that continue to challenge container logistics. By aligning more closely with globally accepted digital communication standards, VIACHAIN™ aims to help carriers, terminals, depots and shippers scale trusted, interoperable intelligence solutions.

Container logistics has long faced inconsistent handover processes, disputed asset conditions, and communication gaps across supply chain nodes. VIACHAIN™ views standardisation not as a competitive differentiator, but as a shared industry foundation necessary to unlock meaningful digital transformation. Through DCSA+, the company will contribute to the development and implementation of shared API and data exchange frameworks designed to enable seamless, end-to-end data flows across stakeholders.

A key focus area for VIACHAIN™ will be ecosystem-wide interoperability, particularly integration with shipping lines, leasing companies and the Bureau of International Containers master data. Drawing on decades of IoT expertise and its work digitising Maritime ISO containers for major shipping lines, VIACHAIN™ will initially collaborate on standardising interoperability for IoT data exchange across both dry and reefer containers. This effort supports enhanced operational efficiency and strengthens end-to-end supply chain visibility across global trade lanes.
