A report from the Global Maritime Forum and the All Aboard Alliance explores how the lack of clear processes and support structures leaves many female seafarers vulnerable and even makes them feel forced out of a job they love.

The report, ‘Pregnancy at sea: From hidden risk to retention edge‘, is based on the personal stories of 15 women from eight different nationalities. While many of their experiences highlighted current challenges, they also identified bright spots that can guide the maritime industry toward better practices and turn this rarely acknowledged aspect of life at sea into a retention opportunity.
