MOL PLUS announced that it delivered a guest lecture in November 2025 for the marine entrepreneurship-related courses “Marine Entrepreneurship I” and “Marine Entrepreneurship Seminar, Advanced Marine Entrepreneurship” at the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology (TUMSAT). In addition, in December, MOL PLUS CEO Takuya Sakamoto served as a judge at the TUMSAT Business Plan Contest 2025 and presented the MOL Award (Note).

　A total of 120 students participated in the two guest lectures. Students shared feedback such as: “I now have a far deeper understanding of the vast potential of new marine-related businesses, as well as the real challenges involved in pursuing them,” “I was deeply inspired by the ideas presented, which went beyond the conventional boundaries of the ocean shipping industry,” and “I learned both how challenging and how rewarding new businesses can be, and I am now more committed than ever to taking on challenges in marine-related fields in the future.” In addition, a total of 17 teams entered the TUMSAT Business Plan Contest 2025 using business ideas inspired by the content of the lecture. MOL PLUS awarded the MOL Award to the idea titled “Fish Visa: A smartphone-based export passport for farmed fish,” which aims to streamline the complex procedures involved in exporting farmed fish. Moving forward, MOL PLUS will provide the winning team with accompanying support, including advice throughout the verification process and guidance in commercializing the results.
