Save the date in your calendar for this promising debate “Shipping Through Times of Turbulence and Innovation”.

This year’s debate, will bring together senior industry stakeholders to explore the most pressing and timely challenges shaping global shipping today.

Discussions will examine the impact of geopolitical volatility on international trade flows, energy security, and supply chains, as well as how ongoing regional conflicts, sanctions, and shifting alliances are redefining operational and commercial strategies.

A central focus will be the industry’s decarbonisation pathway, including the transition to future fuels, investment uncertainty, and the practical implications of the evolving regulatory landscape. Particular attention will be given to the growing concern around the slippage of the IMO Net-Zero framework, its effect on long-term planning, and the balance between regulatory ambition and technical and financial feasibility.

The debate will also address the accelerating pace of technological transformation within shipping. From digitalisation and automation to the increasing influence of artificial intelligence, participants will explore how technology is reshaping vessel operations, fleet management, safety, and strategic decision-making—while also considering the associated challenges around cybersecurity, skills, and governance.

Rather than focusing on policy, AI, or high-level strategy, this year’s CSN Cyprus Shipping Debate also aims to address where turbulence and innovation are felt most acutely: at vessel, equipment, repair, and maintenance level.

Set in Limassol on 22 January 2026, this debate aims to foster open dialogue, share practical insights, and encourage forward-thinking solutions that will help the industry navigate uncertainty while embracing innovation and long-term resilience.

This is going to be the third CSN Cyprus Shipping Debate in Limassol and we would like to invite you to support the event. There are still available sponsorships and those interested please contact us at csn@cyprusshippingnews.com
