The Cyprus Shipping Chamber organised its second Annual Blood Donation Drive in Limassol on 3 December 2025, in memory of former Secretariat member, Ben Casey, who passed away in 2021. Once again, staff from the Chamber’s Shipping Member-Companies made a significant contribution of blood units, offering vital support to local hospitals.

Over the past 30-plus years, Chamber-organised drives have collected more than 3,500 blood units, reflecting the shipping community’s enduring commitment to the health and well-being of our society. A single unit of blood can save 1–3 lives, which means that the industry’s longstanding contribution has helped in the treatment and recovery of up to 10,000 fellow citizens in Cyprus, depending on how the blood and its components are used.
