GP General Procurement Company Limited, has announced the acquisition of SeaConnect from Procurelink, in a move aimed at strengthening its digital service offering to shipowners.

SeaConnect, a supplier-facing procurement platform, will now be fully owned, operated, and rebranded by GenPro. The platform will be integrated into GenPro’s digital control suite, OPTIMA, and offered as an optional solution for members seeking an end-to-end digital procurement experience.

“This acquisition reflects the growing demand for smarter, faster, and more sustainable procurement solutions in the maritime sector,” said Maria Theodosiou, Managing Director of GenPro. “By offering SeaConnect procurement functionalities through Genpro, we are giving our members access to a robust digital environment, without imposing a single way of working. SeaConnect will be made available as a value-added service and will not be required for members to benefit from OPTIMA’s core functionalities. Suppliers will be progressively onboarded to the platform, ensuring greater standardisation and alignment with GenPro’s contractual and compliance frameworks.

The company said the integration will create a unified, GenPro-managed digital backbone that reduces reliance on third-party procurement systems, enhances data ownership, and opens the door to future capabilities such as invoice verification, sustainability reporting, and AI-powered decision support.
