Founded in 1985, MEPPI has grown alongside the Greater Pittsburgh community, into a company of more than 1,400 employees nationwide and overseas, serving electric utilities, data centers, transit authorities, sports organizations, and commercial industries at the intersection of energy, data, and mobility.

Over the past 40 years, MEPPI has expanded its capabilities from high-voltage circuit breakers to a full suite of innovative solutions in switchgear, power electronics, critical power, rail transportation, and large-scale video displays. Throughout this journey, MEPPI has always placed its customers first and deeply valued the contributions of its employees, whose dedication and expertise are the foundation of MEPPI’s success. MEPPI has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in U.S. manufacturing and facilities, including the current construction of a 160,000-square-foot Advanced Switchgear Factory in Western Pennsylvania.
