HD KSOE secures order for two container ships totaling 409.5 billion won

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has successfully secured an order for two container ships.
The shipbuilder announced on Sept. 8 that its subsidiary, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, has signed a contract with an Asia-based shipping company to build two container carriers.
The total order amount is 409.5 billion won. The vessels will be constructed at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and are scheduled to be delivered sequentially by the first half of 2028.
Previously, on Sept. 4, HD Hyundai Samho also secured an order for two crude oil carriers worth 242.2 billion won from an Africa-based shipowner. In July, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and HD Hyundai Samho each won orders for two container ships.
Including this order, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has secured a total of 86 ships, amounting to $11.75 billion. This represents 65.1% of their annual order target of $18.05 billion.
By ship type, the orders include 5 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, 6 LNG bunkering vessels, 8 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and ammonia carriers, 2 ethane carriers, 52 container ships, 12 tankers, and 1 petrochemical product carrier (PC).
