TMS Cardiff Gas has reported a 34 percent reduction in negative SIRE 2.0 observations across its LNG and LPG fleet following the rollout of Kaiko Systems digital inspection platform.

The Athens-based ship manager transitioned from a manual Excel-based process to Kaiko’s structured digital tool to meet the growing demands of the SIRE 2.0 regime. The updated inspection protocol introduced approximately 600 questions requiring photographic evidence and individual crew familiarity. Preparing for inspections previously took up to one month per vessel and involved extensive coordination between onboard departments and shore teams.

Since adopting Kaiko Systems, TMS Cardiff Gas has cut inspection preparation time to as little as 10 to 15 days per vessel. The platform enables crews to complete assessments efficiently while giving the shore office real-time visibility into readiness and compliance levels.

This alignment removed the guesswork and eliminated the inconsistencies that plagued the Excel-based process.

Junior crew members are now consistently scoring 90 to 100 percent on their assigned sections, and senior officers report reduced workload and improved consistency in responses.

Kaiko Systems is now fully integrated across TMS Cardiff Gas’s fleet of LNG and LPG carriers. The improvements have been recognised by major charterers including Shell, Chevron, Total and Qatar Gas during recent inspections.
