DAIBIRU CORPORATION, a group company of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, , is pleased to announce The Yaesu Daibiru Building in Kyobashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, which had been under construction, was completed  June 30. This building was reconstructed from the former Yaesu Daibiru Building, which was closed at the end of December 2021. Inspired by the desire to carry forward the feeling of affection expressed for the former building, again, the name of the building is the Yaesu Daibiru Building.

In its reconstruction, several advanced energy-saving technologies and equipment were introduced. The building is expected to receive a Gold rating under LEED. In addition, the office portion of the building had acquired six stars under the Building-Housing Energy-Efficiency Labeling System (BELS) and ZEB Ready certification ^{(Note 1)}. This is the first time that Daibiru will acquire a Gold rating under LEED and ZEB Ready certification under BELS.
Also, tenants are able to use their smartphones to activate or deactivate air conditioning and adjust temperature and illumination. Furthermore, fine-tuned setting is possible, to help tenants maintain and improve their health and comfort. The building had received an S rank under the CASBEE-WO system, launched by IBECs.

Under the group management plan “BLUE ACTION 2035,” our group has positioned its environmental and portfolio strategies, which is to reform its business portfolio to ensure profitability even during times of shipping recession by increasing the weight of non-shipping and stable profitability businesses that cover the highly volatile shipping market, as one of its main strategies. This initiative is in line with both environmental and portfolio strategies.
