The Cyprus Shipping Chamber successfully held its first of two annual blood donation drives, on 18 June 2025, at the Limassol Old Hospital Health Centre, as part of its charitable activities under the “Cyprus Shipping Cares” umbrella.

This blood donation was dedicated to the “International Day of the Seafarer”, which is celebrated annually on 25 June, highlighting the vital role that seafarers play in global shipping and the world economy and prosperity.

It is noteworthy that the Chamber has been organising two blood donations every year for the past 32 years, with the continued support of the employees of its Member Shipping Companies, who consistently and voluntarily participate in this important effort.

To date, this important initiative has collected more than 3,300 blood units, making a significant contribution to meeting the needs of Cyprus hospitals and supporting fellow citizens in need.

Through “Cyprus Shipping Cares”, the Cyprus Shipping Chamber remains firmly committed to its long-standing philanthropic contribution and continues to actively promote social solidarity both within and beyond the maritime sector.
