Communicating the Importance of Shipping and Sharing MOL Initiatives with the Next Generatio

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, announced that on May 20, as part of its social contribution activities, the company welcomed a group of 35 professors and students from Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies  at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, one of the Hong Kong leading logistics, supply chain and maritime universities, which has close ties with MOL subsidiary MOL Hong Kong Limited.

The LMS delegation visited the company as part of their program to learn about Japan’s maritime and logistics industry. They had a lecture about an overview of the company and its initiatives to address environmental issues, a tour of the Safety Operation Supporting Center, and an introduction to seafarer operations by MOL employees at sea. Every session included a spirited question-and-answer session and a lively exchange of opinions. We also received a crystal plaque of appreciation and a custom-made mug with our name, created by the students.

MOL pursues “BLUE ACTION MOL,” striving to balance corporate growth with a sustainable society, and has incorporated “for ALL,” its intention to pursue social contribution activities, into these words, setting the MOL Group’s social contribution activities as “BLUE ACTION for ALL.” Activities like welcoming the LMS students represent MOL’s initiatives on “next-generation human capital development.”
MOL will continue to proactively welcome students and other visitors from Japan and around the world and provide opportunities for them to deepen their understanding of the ocean shipping industry, as it works to become a corporate group that can contribute to industry and society as well as the development of the next generation.
