The Hood spreads the love with a Valentine’s Giveaway to keep seafarers connected

The Hood has launched a Valentine’s campaign that is bringing the maritime community closer together throughout February, celebrating love in all its forms, not just romantic love, but the deep connections that make life at sea and ashore meaningful. Whether it is for a partner, family member, lifelong friend, or a crewmate who feels like family, The Hood is giving seafarers a chance to share messages of appreciation with those who matter most.
Giving a maritime twist to one of the most iconic movie moments of all time, The Hood recreated the famous Love Actually cue card scene, accompanied by the classic song Come Sail Away by Styx. In the memorable scene, Mark silently professes his love for Juliet by standing at her doorstep with a series of handwritten signs, revealing his unspoken feelings in a tender and heartfelt way. The Hood’s version shifts the focus from romantic confessions to heartfelt messages of gratitude and connection, encouraging seafarers to recreate the scene with their own handwritten notes for the people who make a difference in their lives.
The response has been overwhelming, with the campaign gaining traction across The Hood’s social media channels. Seafarers, families, and friends are flooding the platform with heartfelt messages, videos, and snapshots, transforming the initiative into a digital love letter to the maritime industry.
To make the celebration even more special, The Hood is giving participants the chance to win a luxury hotel stay for two at the prestigious Hyatt Hotel Manila or a Fujifilm Instax camera, because capturing special moments should be just as easy as sharing them.
Throughout February, The Hood will continue spreading the love, encouraging more seafarers to take part in the campaign and share their messages of appreciation. The winner of the giveaway will be announced at the end of the month via The Hood platform and social media.
Josephine Le, Founder of The Hood, said, “The Hood was created to support and connect seafarers, and this campaign is proving just how powerful those bonds are. Seeing the maritime community come together in such a meaningful way has been incredible. Even across vast distances, love, friendship, and gratitude always find a way.”
Join The Hood today and be part of a thriving community where the maritime world connects, collaborates, and belongs. The app is now available on both App Store and Google Play store.
