Increasing efficiency at JAXPORT’s Blount Island terminal
As port partner SSA Atlantic continues to make progress on an ongoing modernization project at the Blount Island Marine Terminal, JAXPORT and SSA are each taking steps to enhance traffic flow and increase efficiencies at the terminal.
Upon completion in the summer of 2025, the SSA Jacksonville Container Terminal will feature 97 acres of newly paved asphalt to accommodate taller stacks of loaded containers. The facility will also be able to accommodate more than 600,000 TEUs annually, a 150% increase over its current throughput.
