Valenciaport will be presenting its extensive capacity and its complete offer of connectivity and services to the main Turkish logistics companies and international shipping companies attending the fair at Logitrans 2024  from 20 to 22 November. The excellent position of the Valencian ports in the Turkish market – which acts as a commercial hinge between Asia and Europe – offers the international business network competitive advantages when it comes to getting their products to more places and faster.

Cristina Rodríguez, head of Containers of the Port Authority of València (PAV), leads the commercial team that travelled to Turkey. With the help of ICEX, Valenciaport is integrated in its stand with its own space where it has held business meetings with international and local shipping companies as well as representatives of Turkish logistics companies and countries integrated in its area of influence. In these B2B meetings, Valenciaport has shown the excellent trade flows that exist between Valencia and Turkey, the two ends of the Mare Nostrum.

At these meetings, Valenciaport presented its competitive advantages compared to other Mediterranean enclaves and strengthened synergies with Turkish logistics companies. In fact, Valenciaport is the most efficient option for maritime trade in the south of the European Union due to its geostrategic location between the Suez Canal and the Strait of Gibraltar. This context positions the Port of València as the best link with the main regular lines from America, the Mediterranean basin and the Asian East.

Traffic with Turkey

So far in 2024, trade relations between Valenciaport and Turkey have amounted to 3,788,986 tonnes, 25.54% more than in the same period (January-October) of 2023. In this sense, Turkey maintains excellent trade relations with Valenciaport, in fact, the docks of València, Sagunto and Gandia work with around twenty shipping companies that operate 43 regular lines with Turkey, thus connecting the Valencian precincts to 35 Turkish ports.
