Overview:

Since 1997, the Center for Special Education of Children & Adults with Disabilities (K.E.E.P.E.A.) “Orizontes” has been enhancing the quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities and their families. We provide lifelong education tailored to each individual’s needs and desires, offering support for independent living and integration into the workforce.

With over 25 years of dedication in the field of special education, K.E.E.P.E.A. “Orizontes” has been operating a Day Care Center since 2013, with a capacity of 104 individuals with intellectual disabilities, in the Municipality of Ilioupoli, where our headquarters are located. In 2018, we proudly launched the “Open Horizons-Mari Vrettos” Supported Living Apartment, followed by the opening of a second Supported Living Apartment in Kallithea in 2024.

In 2023, we expanded our efforts to promote social inclusion by founding the social cooperative enterprise “Pareaki” in Agios Dimitrios. Through this initiative, we actively support the employment and social integration of people with intellectual disabilities, empowering them to become equal members of society.

Services Offered:

1. Supported Living Homes
   • Residential care for individuals with disabilities, with a focus on fostering independence, offering personalized care, and enhancing social integration within a community setting. These homes provide 24/7 care and support for daily living, health monitoring, and emotional well-being.
2. Day Care Programs:
   • Offering specialized educational and therapeutic programs, the day care center focuses on social, cognitive, and physical development through personalized education plans, therapy, and recreational activities.
3. Employment Support and Vocational Training:
   • Through training and job placement services, Keepea Orizontes helps individuals develop the skills needed for employment and ensures continuous support for workforce integration.
4. Rehabilitation and Therapeutic Services:
   • A range of rehabilitation services aimed at improving the physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being of individuals, including physical therapy, psychological support, and behavior modification.

K.E.E.P.E.A. “Orizontes” serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as their families, providing lifelong support and promoting autonomy, inclusion, and personal development.
