Louis Dreyfus Armateurs initiates the construction of wind-assisted RoRo ships for Airbus
The event was held on October 24th by CSSC Group at Wuchang Shipyard in China, between LDA, the yard, and the classification society Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore.
This event marks a major step in the construction of three highly efficient vessels that will transport aircraft subassemblies for Airbus.
In addition to the 6 Rotors Sails from NorsePower, each of the three vessels will feature additional smart technologies, such as:
- A routing system from D-ice engineering
- Dual-fuel methanol engines from Wartsila
- A waste heat conversion system
The 167 meters vessels will enter into operations from 2026 onwards.
