The San Marino Maritime Administration aligns with international players in safety and protection initiative

Three years after the launch of the new San Marino Shipping Registry, national government institutions are aligned with the priorities of international and European actors such as the International Maritime Organisation IMO and the Paris Memorandum of Understanding for Port State Control. In a symbolic but significant gesture in establishing the Administration’s priorities, San Marino’s iconic landmark Three Towers will be illuminated in blue light in the evening of September 26^th, to mark World Maritime Day 2024. IMO Headquarters in London will also be bathed in blue light in the evening of the day to promote this year’s theme: “Navigating the Future: Safety First!”. All Member States, intergovernmental organisations, and partners have been invited to light up their national landmarks.
At the level of European cooperation, San Marino Ship Register has implemented new procedures in support of the Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) of the major Memorandums of Understanding of Port State Control Authorities from September to November 2024. The Concentrated Inspection Campaign focuses on seafarer wages, employment agreements, and financial securities under the Maritime Labour Convention 2006.
