It is with great sorrow and grief that we announce the passing of Cypriot shipowner Charalambos Mylonas, founder of Transmed Shipping and a pioneer of Cyprus shipping. The deceased made an immense contribution to the development of the Cyprus maritime industry, leaving behind a significant legacy, an indelible mark, and an invaluable contribution. The establishment of the Cyprus Union of Shipowners in 1981, of which he served as President for over two decades, as well as the preparation of the first Collective Agreement for seafarers on Cyprus vessels, are landmarks that bear his signature.

We express our deepest condolences to his wife, Charikleia, and his children, Nicole, Katerina, and Elias, as well as to his siblings and grandchildren. Charalambos Mylonas is counted among the most significant pillars of Cyprus shipping. May his memory be eternal.

The Shipping Deputy Minister of Cyprus, accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Greece, Mr. Stavros Avgoustides, will represent the Cyprus Government at the funeral procession of the late Charalambos Mylonas.
