The proceeds from the use of the 20 bicycles will go towards a tree-planting initiative

Εurogate Container Terminal Limassol, the operator of the container terminal at Limassol port, takes part in the Ride to Green campaign, which aims to promote the use of bicycles for moving within the city of Limassol and at the same time increase green cover in the wider region.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme, Eurogate takes part in the campaign with 20 bicycles,which can be driven by the public, while Eurogate personnel can use them for free, strengthening the campaign’s objective and contributing to building a cycling culture in Cyprus. For every 5km that the bicycles will complete over the next two months, Eurogate will purchase a number of trees, that will be planted throughout the city and district of Limassol, as part of the campaign.

In a statement, Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Alexandros Demetriades of Eurogate Container Terminal Limassol said: “As a company operating in the heart of Limassol, the port, we could not be missing from this effort by the organisers to promote green growth and sustainable urban mobility in our city. We are also particularly pleased that Eurogate staff have embraced this project, demonstrating that there is great potential for establishing a cycling culture and a more sustainable future.”
