February saw Hanwha Life signing a business agreement with Danang National University and Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation to foster future financial and ICT talents in Vietnam. This initiative aims to discover and nurture local talents, further solidifying Hanwha Life’s presence and influence in the region.

By the first quarter, Hanwha Life emerged as the life insurance company with the highest interest in “global management” for market diversification. Data & Research conducted a big data analysis on 11 life insurance companies from January to March this year, covering 230,000 sites across 12 channels including news, communities, cafes, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, KakaoStory, and public platforms. The survey subjects were selected arbitrarily, and the information volume was ranked as follows: Hanwha Life, Samsung Life, Mirae Asset Life, Kyobo Life, Heungkuk Life, Shinhan Life, KB Life Insurance, Tongyang Life, DB Life, AIA Life, and Fubon Hyundai Life.

“Hanwha Life recorded 1,510 related posts in the first quarter, comfortably securing the top spot in ‘global management’ interest,” stated Data & Research. This was followed by Samsung Life with 571 pieces of information and Mirae Asset Life with a total of 273 records.

In March, Hanwha Life established a real estate investment corporation in Japan as a stepping stone to explore new overseas markets, embarking on global market expansion. This move aligns with the company’s broader strategy to diversify its market presence and leverage new growth opportunities.

Meanwhile, Mirae Asset Life’s variable insurance fund significantly outperformed the industry average in the fourth quarter of last year due to its global diversified investment approach. Despite the uncertain global economic situation, Mirae Asset Life managed to achieve high returns by controlling volatility, showcasing the effectiveness of its investment strategy.

Samsung Life, which ranked second in the big data analysis, has secured 137 local branches to target the high-growth potential market in Thailand. CEO Hong Won-hak’s New Year’s address underscored the company’s strategic focus on global expansion and cooperation with financial stakeholders.

As the year progresses, the life insurance industry in South Korea continues to witness dynamic shifts and strategic maneuvers aimed at global market diversification. Hanwha Life’s proactive initiatives and strong performance in “global management” interest highlight its leading role in this evolving landscape. With ongoing efforts to explore new markets and foster international partnerships, the company is well-positioned to capitalize on emerging opportunities and drive sustained growth in the global arena.
