The event will take place from June 3rd to June 7th at the Metropolitan Expo area in Athens. Sophia will be present at our booth on Tuesday, June 4th, from 14:30 to 17:30, at Stand 1.159 in Hall No. 1, where CMA will unveil its latest cutting-edge products and solutions tailored for the Marine Industry.

Sophia’s appearance at the CMA booth will feature engaging activities including:

Sophia, the first “social robot,” is designed to mimic human social behaviors and evoke emotional responses. Utilizing cutting-edge technology, she continuously learns from her interactions, can mimic gestures, and express over 60 facial expressions. Her advanced AI platform allows her to evolve through experience, improving her interactions over time. Sophia can answer questions and engage in conversations on various topics, including the weather, and speaks flawlessly in 20 languages, including Greek.

Since her creation in 2016, Sophia has achieved numerous milestones, including receiving Saudi Arabian citizenship in 2017, making her the first robot to obtain legal personhood in any country. That same year, she was named the United Nations Development Programme’s first non-human Innovation Champion.

Sophia’s design aims to make her a valuable societal member, serving roles in nursing homes, assisting at large events, museums, parks, customer service, therapy, education, and academic research. Her goal is to achieve artificial wisdom, reflecting the philosophical roots of her name.
