Held at in the port since 26 March as a result of the tragic collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, assisted by tugs, Carmen left the berth after 14:00 EDT. Safely navigating through the tight temporary waterway, the vessel is scheduled to call in Manzanillo, Panama. Following cargo operations in the port the vessel will rejoin the working fleet and return to a scheduled trade route.

Salvage work in Baltimore is still ongoing and vessel transits will remain limited to the designated channels, with the number of transits regulated and further restricted by the temporary time-frame currently available.

Currently assessing the practicality and viability of our vessels entering the port during this current limited transit window, we remain optimistic the full reopening of the channel remains on schedule.

In addition, we recognize the incredible collaborative effort that authorities, stakeholders, partners, and peers, and the people of Baltimore, have made to work though the challenges posed in the aftermath of the bridge collapse.
