Brittany Ferries confirms Barfleur port trial in Guernsey

Brittany Ferries says it will bring cruise-ferry Barfleur to Guernsey on 24 April at around 17:00. The move follows successful berthing trials with the ship in Jersey two weeks ago.

“Our aim with both berthing trials has been to test the capabilities and constraints that might allow us to bring a ship like Barfleur to the islands if needed,” said Christophe Mathieu CEO of Brittany Ferries and interim CEO Condor Ferries. “It’s important because fleet flexibility is key to bringing greater resilience to the islands in the months and years ahead.

Barfleur is Brittany Ferries’ 157m ropax vessel. It can carry 900 passengers and 590 cars and currently serves the Poole to Cherbourg route for the company.
