StormGeo secures 100% ownership of Climatempo

StormGeo, a leading technology provider, has announced its complete acquisition of Brazil based meteorological service, Climatempo.

StormGeo, part of Alfa Laval, first took an initial 51% stake in the Climatempo Group in 2019. In 2023, a further 38.66% was secured, marking an 89.66% ownership.

This takeover sees StormGeo increasing its footprint in the South American market and providing advanced services to the Brazilian customer base.

Speaking on the final acquisition, StormGeo CEO, Kim Sørensen said:

This is an exciting and logical next step in our association with Climatempo and an important move towards becoming a market-leading technology provider for weather-sensitive industries in Latin America.

With complete ownership, both companies can continue integrating their human expertise and technological innovations to better serve regional clients.

“We have seen remarkable growth opportunities following our association with StormGeo, and we are excited to finally become fully integrated with our digitally strong and technologically innovative parent company,” says Patricia Madeira, CEO at Climatempo. “By combining Climatempo’s local knowledge and strong client relationships with StormGeo’s portfolio we can provide our clients with even stronger product offerings and services”, said Madeira.

Climatempo, part of StormGeo, will continue to operate under its original brand name in Brazil, until further notice.
