Sergey Popravko, Head of ESG Department – Mastermind Shipmanagement

Sergey Popravko has some 40+ years of experience in the shipping industry. After more than a decade spent at sea serving as a Deck Officer and Master aboard tankers Sergey moved ashore in 1994 to work for Primorsk Shipping Company (PRISCO) as a chartering manager. After 3 years he was promoted to become a Fleet Director. He passed his professional examinations to become a Member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers(ICS) and then in 1998 he became a Fellow of the ICS.  In 2004 he was promoted to the CEO of PRISCO. Since 2006 Sergey was an MD of UNICOM then SCF MS, a shipmanagement company based in Cyprus. The company provided full management for various types of vessels including oil and product tankers, LNG and LPG carriers, dry bulk vessels, off-shore supply vessels and shuttle tankers. More than 70% of the fleet managed by UNICOM were ice class vessels capable to operate in hash Arctic environment. Sergey received Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from the Swiss Business School in Zurich and MSc at the WMU, Malmoe, Sweden.

He was Member of the Board at THE INTERNATIONAL TANKER OWNERS POLLUTION FEDERATION LIMITED (ITOPF), Member of the Board of Assuranceforeningen SKULD (Gjensidig), member of the Board of Cyprus Shipping Chamber and Member of the Advisory Committee of West of England Insurance (Lux)SA.
